Victorian Black Silk Battenburg Braided Woven Tape Lace Latticework Long Coat
This antique Victorian era black silk Battenburg braided woven tape lace latticework long coat dates from 1900. It is made of a sheer black silk Battenburg braided woven tape lace latticework with connecting brides, bars creating decorative scrolling, spiral circular pattern designs. This beautiful black Gothic lace coat jacket has a long knee length, loose fitting style with an open front, no closure, a coattail split vent back, long full sleeves with open slit detail connected with braided straps and is sheer, unlined. The coat measures 36 inches long, with a 40 inch chest, 40 inch waist, 40 inch hips, 15 inch long sleeves and a 15 inch back. It is in good as-is condition, with several small breaks on the connecting brides, bars and some fraying, mended repairs under the arms. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art!
