Description
Gorgeous vintage Chanel-style wool tweed houndstooth boucle jacket with goldtone buttons, by Nina Fabbri of Brussels. Dynamite jacket from the early days of post-war Belgian fashion - there is barely any info on Fabbri online, save for one article on Belgian fashion I located which states that the postwar Dior archives show that Fabbri was invited to present her clothes in Parisian fashion shows in the early 60's. This is exquisitely tailored, with a beautiful textured wool geometric houndstooth print in cream, navy, and white, with goldtone buttons for front enclosure and adorning the sleeve cuffs and the four front flap pockets. Beautiful quilted lining in ivory, with goldtone chain to interior bottom hem, providing weight (the same process used by Chanel to plumb the jacket). Exceedingly rare vintage couture jacket in excellent overall condition, free of stains or holes, though the front buttons could use some reinforcement, and the button to one sleeve cuff has come off and needs to be reattached (it's inside one of the front pockets). No size given, so please note the dimensions, which seem to roughly correspond to a Medium:Chest, pit to pit: 21"
Sleeves: 23"
Length, top of collar to hem: 26"
