I've reached the age where I don't much care about anyone's opinion on my style choices.  This has allowed me to steadily slip from fashion to costume which explains why this article has come in to my wardrobe.  I intended it for regular street wear but it really is too costumey even for me.  It's pretty simple but has a vague Victorian feel which would work for a stage production in just about any decade of the 1800s when people had no taste whatsoever in clothing.  My final decision To send it back out to the world to face stage lights again was when I discovered that it was actually made for Aunt March in a production of Little Women. It pretty much sealed its fate because Aunt March is not the look anyone wants. It is a pretty heavy wool tweed, unlined and made for a tall person but could easily be basted in place for a shorter individual It could be a pretty versatile garment for a stage company with  limited budget.  It is a home sewn item.
