    Description

Here a pretty vintage candy box which was made by the Fostoria Glass Company of Moundsville, West Virginia.  The pattern name for this is "Century"; it was introduced in 1950 and continued in production until 1982.  This particular candy dish is etched with the seal of the United States Senate, and is etched with a reproduction of the signature of Kansas Senator Robert J. Dole.  Bob Dole was elected Senator in 1969, so this thing was made sometime between 1969 and 1982.
The piece is about 7" tall to the top of the handle (4-1/2" at the sides), and it's about 4-1/4" wide across the mouth, and the foot's about 3-1/4" in diameter.  It's in great shape with no nicks, chips, or other damage.  Cool little piece, perfect for a political junkie (Dole was the Republican candidate for Vice President in 1976 and for President in 1996, and was a powerful Senator for many years).  Cool or not, I've got way too much glassware in my life, so this needs a new home.
